As a general rule, lawyers work hard and play hard. Lawyers are eloquent, articulate and very insightful when it comes to reading another person’s character.
Lawyers have good memories — or at least good note-taking skills. Speaking of note-taking, there will be plenty of free legal pads lying around. Your date will have interesting law-school stories (and lots of life experience).
Of course the decision of whether to marry at all is a personal one, just as the decision of whom to marry is.
So I will not tell you what to do — you will need to answer the question for yourself.
Indisputably, there are many advantages of being friends or lovers with a justice whiz, as well as reasons to marry a lawyer. Although some criminal solicitors are highly competitive, they have enough arguments in the court room to save their wits for the job, and take it easy with their loved ones. Counsels are balanced and able to tell right from wrong in their personal lives as well.
In lifetime partnerships or dating, they get bored of people who are unable of an intellectual and logical conversation. Once they have made a partner, the amount of cases they are expected to take on seldom decreases in volume, but they have more responsibility for the successful outcome. Inability to understand something makes legists apprehensive until they figure it out. To be precise, they are content with taking calculated risks, when rewards outweigh potential perils. You will probably find lack of spontaneity in a relationship with a lawyer. Internet gifted us the opportunity to connect with such specialists in other cities, states, or even countries.
We are stubborn and argumentative but we're also accepting and look at things from many different perspectives.
But assuming that a lawyer does want to get married or otherwise establish a family with someone else, it is interesting to consider the question of whether to consider a fellow lawyer for marriage.
Or to consider what marrying a lawyer means for a non-lawyer — at least in terms of the pros and cons of doing so.
It won’t always be easy, but if you’re flexible, open to spirited debate, and intent on maintaining your independence, you can have a long, happy relationship.
You will actually know what's going on when watching Law and Order. I'd love to tell you that dating a lawyer is no different than dating someone from another profession but that would be a lie. Would I lie about the weight listed on my driver's license? Personally, I think dating a lawyer would be wonderful for those reasons alone, but I realize there are others who may disagree.
